Welcome to the 1st Symposium of Culture and Music of the Native People of Panama!

Miraremos la conexión entre el jazz y la cultura Guna, y como combinar diversos estilos de la musica moderna y la musica Guna, canto de los sailas, cantos de las madres e instrumentos musicales autoctonos. Uno de los principales exponentes de este estilo de música llamado EthnoFusion en Panamá es el Maestro Marden Paniza, de quien investigaremos todo acerca de la mezcla que hay en estas dos grandes ramas de la Música. El objetivo de la presentación es conocer la historia y como se puede mezclar el jazz con la música Guna, utilizando instrumentos como el piano, la guitarra, la bateria y los instrumentos gunas como el Gammu y la flauta tradicional.

We will look at the connection between jazz and Guna culture, and how to combine different styles of modern music and Guna music, song of the sailas, songs of the mothers and indigenous musical instruments. One of the main exponents of this style of music called EthnoFusion in Panama is Master Marden Paniza, from whom we will investigate everything about the mix that exists in these two great branches of Music. The objective of the presentation is to know the history and how jazz can be mixed with Guna music, using instruments such as the piano, guitar, drums and gunas instruments such as the Gammu and the traditional flute.
